Songs I Wish I Could Karaoke Pt 1

Gramrock As the title of this post indicates, this will be a series of sorts cause I LOOOVE to karaoke.  & occaisionally I'm delighted by some of the selections, more often I'm often saddened by the boring songs to choose from.

If I had my way...I'd include these showstoppers:

Spandau Ballet -- Gold
I would wear a matador jacket & sing very emotionally into a skinny Bob Barker microphone: "These are my salad days, slowly being eaten away..."  Please do yourself a favor & watch the video for it HERE as it is a look at 80s video excellence.

The Shocking Blue -- Send Me a Postcard
I love them & would love to rock this number (or "Inkpot" for that matter) in my own unique way!  I did a post about the Shocking Blue in January which you can read HERE if you are so inclined.

Nancy Sinatra -- I Gotta Get out of this Town
Seriously.  There HAS to be an opportunity for me to sing:  "I got some places I ITCH...I got some scratchin' to do!" THERE JUST HAS TO!  You can watch two amazing Nancy Sinatra RC Cola Commercials that aired during her 1967 TV special "Movin' with Nancy" HERE & HERE!

Ha! I've written about Gold before! I thought I was the only one who loves that song in a completely unironic way.

Thanks for the link to the Spandau video! Awesome 80s video love. I think it's the perfect time for them to have a comeback, no?

thank you SO much for posting that Nancy song. it's so great.
