Do you like to come here to reminisce? Seems like all I post are old new wave hitz, doesn't it? It's funny, I listen to LOTS of new music but this stuff just sticks with me. I imagine I'll be the 90-year-old lady rocking out to the Smiths while I water my plastic flowers.
My life is feeling very high school lately so I thought I'd post some songs that I used to listen to nonstop on my record player during that tumultuous & mostly retarded time. This little mix is dedicated to the 14-year-old me & is called...
I'M VERY DIFFERENT & NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ME!

i dunno if it's the having sex in high school because i didn't have sex until AFTER high school thankyouverymuch.... but hey, to each his own.
i think it's that you're young, the newness of everything excites you, the have lots of time to devote to it. my teenage years mostly consisted of laying about in my bedroom wishing & waiting for something amazing to happen.

I always chalked it up to the fact that we *knew* Reagan was going to kill us all (or was it 'the Russians') so we had to live it up while we still could.

This is inspirational: in 1984 I was 14 and this selection rings so many bells... especially the New order tracks... sigh! Now,leave me alone. I'm going to my room. I'm not coming out. I'm closing the curtains. You just don't understand me.

Chere Mam'selle, you make me sad and you make me glad. The Portuguese have a word for it: saudades ("sow-dad-geez"). Grossly inadequate translation: a wistful longing for something you are terribly fond of, that has disappeared, but which you hope against hope will return...
And now, let me go back to my bedroom circa 1985 and tape stuff off the radio...

probably cos the first time you have sex is high school and if you were born mid-late 60's or early mid 70's then you had sex when new wave music was coming in, in, or goin out
its all downhill after that
